In February of 2004 Aleecat started recording a new solo album in London with drummer Peter Phipps (ex-Gary Glitter Band) and bassist Dave Glover (ex-Brian Connolly's Sweet), at Stone Room Studio in Shepherd's Bush. The recording has been released in October '04, titled Alan Merrill / "Aleecat", on MEC Records.
Also, Vodka Collins released a reissue compilation album in August 2004 titled "Boys In The Band" on Polystar-Felicty Records in Japan. It is a mix of choice cuts from three Vodka Collins albums done in the 1990s, "Chemical Reaction", "Pink Soup" and "Boys Life". A tour was planned for October '04 to promote the album . All songs on "Boys In The Band" were written and sung by Alan Merrill.
Out now, an Arrows reissue compilation, "A's, B's, and Rarites", which was released January 2005, featuring the lead vocals of Alan Merrill. The album has at least 9 never before released Arrows tracks on it, including some very rare titles produced by Mickie Most in the mid 70s.
March 2005, the Vodka Collins EMI reissue of 1972's "Tokyo-New York" album. This is the first millennium reissue of the recording.
June 2006, The power pop "Merrill 1" solo album is reissued after many years dormant. September '06 Alan Merrill releases a new solo album titled "At The Candy Shop" featuring many stellar guests.
April 2007, Alan Merrill is featured on bass guitar and several vocals on the Ron Wood Tribute album out of Switzerland, by Kurious Kurt and the Zug Zug Gang.
June 2007, "I love rock n roll" solo maxi single by Alan Merrill, with special guests including Pete Phipps, Dave Glover, Darrel Bath, Felix Cavaliere, Sir Mack Rice, Billie Ray Martin, and more.
October 2007, Alan Merrill releases the maxi single "Rive Gauche," a tribute to the hits of The Left Banke, with bonus tracks. Guest players include Sandy Gennaro (Joan Jett and The Blackhearts) and Tommy Mandel (Bryan Adams band).
In May, June, and July 2008 there will three Alan Merrill solo releases. A live album, "The Aleecat, Live In Japan." Plus the 6 song maxi single EP "Hard Road." Also there's the retrospective "Alien In Tokyo," with 17 unique mixes of tracks recorded between 1969-1971. That's the summer recording release schedule of 2008 for Alan Merrill, who will be taking a break this summer from touring. Live shows and tour dates are now being planned for September 2008.
